Chapter 2.12 Boston (continued)

continued from 2.11 - At 5 took the omnibus to Roxy - (P. G. & self) took tea with Deborah – met Mrs. Agnes Gannet.  Quite a home party! - very pleasant.  Roxy a pretty place.  Returned to the city in last O[mnibus] about 8 o’clock.  Made up our minds to start for New York tomorrow at 4.

Had a gook look tonight at the gas lights - the three jets prettiest.  Can’t understand this ticket work of the Ot.  “Go a head” is the phrase instead of “All’s right”

(Tuesday) Went to DeGuerotype[1] man - who took George’s likeness pretty well.

Papa and I insisted to be taken together when we return_

His place erected for the operation is upon the roof of the building 4 or 5 stories in height in the noisiest part of the city – but we scarcely heard the bustle, so far were we above it.  Showed us specimens of all sorts.  Some groups looked very well, especially that of 4 or 5 good companions with arms over each others shoulders.

Some landscapes too – the bright sunshine very natural.
